President Angel Knoverek PhD, LPC, ACS is a counselor and counselor educator with nearly 30 years of experience in the mental health field including schools. Angel enjoys helping counselors-in-training develop and strengthen their knowledge and skills. She is passionate about training in evidence based practice and supervision. Angel is the director of the Master of Arts in Counseling program at Culver-Stockton College and is Co-chair of the NCTSN's Complex Trauma/Developmental Trauma Disorder Work Group. Angel enjoys spending time with her family swimming, fishing, boating and late night bonfires. | President Elect/Vice President: Gina Rivera Sokolich, MA, LPC, CTP. Gina's journey into mental health began with her years of service in EMS. As a retired First Responder, she is deeply committed to supporting First Responders and their unique challenges. She also specializes in working with individuals recovering from narcissistic abuse, navigating life transitions, and processing profound loss. Gina aims to empower clients to embrace their evolution and move forward with strength and purpose. Secretary Danielle Hamilton, MA, LPC earned her master’s degree in counseling from Adams State University in 2014. She has been practicing for the last ten years and has an online private practice specializing in life transitions and generalized anxiety. She serves as an adjunct psychology professor at Culver Stockton College. Danielle enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family in her spare time. | Treasurer Mark Vander Ley Ph.D., LPC is passionate about the profession of counseling and believes deeply that connection has the power to heal. He earned his Master’s of counseling and marriage, family, and child counseling in 2006 and his PHD in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2018. Mark is a core faculty member in The Master of Arts of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Colorado Christian University and runs a group practice in Quincy, Illinois. |
Region Representative Nicole Rojas MA, LPC is a native of Kansas City and lives with her husband and three children. Nicole attended Park University and Avila University where she received a degree in Criminal Justice and masters in Counseling Psychology. Nicole currently own a private practice in North Kansas City and has been in practice for the last 8 years. |
