The Licensure Pathway

Newly graduated counselors will apply for the Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). During this application process, individuals must secure a site and a qualified supervisor who will sign the license application. After completing a minimum total of 3000 hours, with at least 1200 hours working directly with clients, and providing 24 months of counseling directly under a Missouri  Approved Supervisor or approved hours from another state, a counselor is eligible to apply for full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
